Host(ess) Amsterdam location

Amsterdam is at its most beautiful from the water, and the shipping company likes to let as many people as possible experience that. At this party cruise company, they organise tailor-made events on the water for small and large groups, ranging from a drinks cruise to a 3-course dinner and from a transfer to a company outing with entertainment on board or a wedding. Amsterdam Circle Line is also part of the company, with the focus on tourists visiting the city. Besides the cruises in Amsterdam, they are also active in Haarlem, where they provide both events and sightseeing cruises.

For Luxury Cruises in Amsterdam, you are responsible for (proactively) carrying out all tasks related to responding to the expectations and wishes of the guest in particular. The host(ess) is responsible for serving drinks and dishes and for waiting on our guests, and for making sure the customer has an unforgettable experience on the water.

• You are the host/hostess on the boat; you are the face of the company
• taking care of the mise en place, such as laying/setting tables, setting out cutlery and table linen
• assisting with setting up on boats (receptions and parties).
• welcoming and seating guests
• taking orders and providing information
• preparing simple orders yourself (pouring drinks, preparing small dishes/snacks, etc.);
• bringing in and setting up buffets and/or catering
• serving dishes, drinks
• clearing up afterwards and putting everything back in its designated place
• tidying/cleaning toilets and work areas.
• making sure the boats are ready again for the next trip, including stock management and cleaning
• handling payments

• hospitality experience
• able to work independently
• sociable, spontaneous and guest-oriented
• communicates clearly
• presentable appearance
• solution-oriented
• flexible & able to switch quickly
• Dutch- and English-speaking
• knowledge as a guide is a plus
• you are self-assured and, just as importantly, you have a good team spirit
