On-call canal cruise skipper

The shipping company has been a household name in Amsterdam's city centre for more than 60 years. Many tourists 'experience' Amsterdam in a special way on one of its canal cruise boats. More than 140 employees look after not only the canal cruises, but also special products such as the Candlelight Cruise, Dinner Cruise, Beer & Burger cruise, Pizza cruise, Water colors cruise, City Sightseeing and the Open Small Boat cruises.

• You give your 40 to 80 guests a warm welcome on board and ensure a safe, secure and enjoyable trip;
• You are responsible for keeping your boat in good condition;
• You carry out minor repairs to the boat yourself;
• Together with the team of skippers, you take more than 2 million passengers a year through the Amsterdam canals.
• The high season runs from April to October; the company sails all year round, including in winter.

• Holder of a boatmaster's licence (groot vaarbewijs);
• A marine radio (marifoon) certificate;
• Flexible, service-oriented and a good communicator;
• Experience on the Amsterdam canals is a plus;
• You speak Dutch and English;
• Preferably available in the evenings and at weekends.

• Market-rate salary

• Approx. 10 hours per day
• No mileage allowance!
